義肢矯具學設計原理

課程目標
 Orthoses and prostheses are externally applied devices used to modify the structural or functional characteristics of the neuromuskuloskeletal system or to replace wholly, or in part, an absent or deficient limb segment. The designs of orthoses and prostheses are concerning man-made devices and the integration of the devices and the human structure in order that the structural or functional deficits of the neuromusculoskeletal system can be ameliorated. This course was planned to provide a fundamental knowledge of orthotic and prosthetic designs. It will cover the biomechanical design and control of devices, gait and human movements and the prospects. This course also serves as one of the core courses of education for future orthotists*.
*Orthotist: Person who, having completed an approved course of education and training, is authorized by an appropriate national authority to design, measure and fit orthoses. Othotics technician manufactures orthoses under the direction of an orthotist.
